By Shipston Proms
We had five very talented performers enter our Shipston Introducing event at the beginning of June.
Charlie, an A-level student from Chipping Campden, has a wide vocal range which saw him sing Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ and also master the soaring cadences of ‘Grace Kelly’ by Mika. Another student to enter from Chipping Campden was Sam Conisbee, a Shipston Introducing regular and growing from strength to strength on acoustic guitar. From further afield in Banbury, we had an amazing Jayden Tin performing two songs with great confidence on piano at just 11 years old.
However, it was Jay Mac, also from Banbury who won the solo category and the chance to play on the Final Night on the Main stage. He impressed the judges by playing a mixture of HipHop, Rap, Drum ‘nBass and Fusion as well as performing his own material. Oddington and Chipping Norton duo, Mimi Roberts on vocal and Jamie Webber playing keyboard were the group who won the chance to play on the main stage on the Final Night with their outstanding mix of Soul,Funk and Pop.
To all who entered, we wish them all well with their future music careers. We hope to see them all again soon.
